«The Arctic frontiers» are expecting for the students

The Russian Geographical Society and the Norwegian research company «Akvaplan Niva» are announcing the contest for participation in the work of the Second Arctic Students` Forum. The event will take place in Tromso (Norway) from the 20th to 25th of January, 2017 within the frames of the international conference «The Arctic frontiers – 2017».

The university undergraduate and graduate students of Russia can take part in the contest. 10 winners will receive the target grant for participation in the work of the forum. The students – are the delegates of the Arctic Students` Forum, they will take part in the thematic seminars, round tables, scientific meetings, conference sessions, cultural events, organized within the frames of the week of «The Arctic frontiers». The target grant is aimed at covering direct costs of travel from Moscow to the Forum venue and back (the winners are getting Moscow by themselves), accommodation, meals, registration fee for participation in the Arctic student forum within the framework of the conference «The Arctic frontiers – 2017».

An interest in Arctic research, a positive performance, fluent English, providing abstracts, the presence of a valid travel document are necessarily needed for participation in the contest. An application for participation in the contest (the form is attached) and the abstracts describing the research subject of the contestant (500 words) in English should be sent by e-mail to the following addresses: Sergey.Katikovatrgo.ru or abatakvaplan.niva.no  marked (subject of the message) «The Arctic Frontiers contest».

The interviews by Skype in English will be conducted with the winners of the contest.

Announcement of winners – the 28th of November, 2016.
