Summer begins! And it means that Moscow residents and guests will again enjoy the geographical holidays of the Russian Geo Society. Days of the Russian Geographical Society will take place in Moscow parks during the summer season. Anyone may take part in quizzes, quests, visit lectures, workshops and film shows, and admire the Most Beautiful Country photo exhibition.
Days of the Russian Geographical Society will take place in the following parks:
- June 9 in Krasnaya Presnya Park
- June 23 in Kuzminsky Park and Estate
- July 7 at VDNKh.
- July 28 in Izmailovsky Park
- August 4 in Bauman’s Garden
- August 18 in Tsaritsyno Park
The summer educational program organized by the Society will start June 9 in Krasnaya Presnya Park.
Children and adults can attend lectures and master classes. Thus, Yaroslav Popov, a researcher of the Darwin Museum will speak about ancient animals that lived in the territory of Russia and places where dinosaurs lived in Russia. And Tatyana Bolysova, head of the "Traditional masks and figures of the world" Museum will devote her lecture to mysterious African totems. Visitors will be able to take part in exciting practical classes to learn how the volcanoes of Kamchatka are arranged, and study the principles of heraldry on the example of Russian cities.
Films made with the assistance of the Russian Geographical Society will be shown. Guests of the event will see the documentary films "Big water. Lena" and "Peter Kozlov. The mystery of the lost city" and others.
An exhibition of finalists of the Most Beautiful Country photo contest will work within the framework of the event. Visitors of Krasnaya Presnya Park will see unique pictures of wild animals, the underwater world, Russia’s natural and cultural attractions of.
