The 11th of February at the «Pristine Russia» festival there will be held the Day of the Russian Geographical Society. A lot of interesting events, which start at 11:00 am and last till the very evening, are expecting for the guests.
The program of The Day of the Russian Geographical Society includes lectures and master-classes of famous travelers and photographers. Thus, for example, Dmitry Erokhin, Russian ultramarathon winner, who won the both tops of Elbrus, will share his impressions about the highest mountain peak of Russia and Europe. The finalist of «The most beautiful country» photo contest, photographer Kirill Uytnov will tell about the eternal travel to the Putorana plateau, winter autoexpedition to Yamal and about his trip to mountain lakes in Kyrgyzstan.

At 17:00 the chairman of the Jury of the photo contest of the Russian Geographical Society, the most famous Russian photographer of wild nature Sergey Gorshkov, will award the finalists and the winners of the contest for the subscribers of social networks «Pristine Russia».
The Russian Geographical Society claimed the competition «Pristine Russia» in honor of the Year of Specially Protected Natural Areas. Within the frames of the contest the subscribers of social networks are requested to publish the photo collage of the pictures, taken on any of the Specially Protected Natural Areas of our country. The photo stories from all the country have been received for participation in the contest. We would like to remind you that the acceptance of the works completes the 3rd of February.
Besides that, within the frames of the Day of the Russian Geographical Society there is planned the film program. Everyone will be able to watch films, created with the support of the Society. Thus, at 17:30 there will be shown a documentary picture showing «The East Station. On the threshold of life». The film about the history of Antarctic exploration became laureate of the Award of the Russian Geographical Society of 2016 in the following nomination: «Promotion of natural, historical and cultural heritage of Russia», and its authors received the award from the hands of the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Russian Geographical Society Vladimir Putin.
