“Expedition Arctic”

2 February, International Youth Forum “Expedition Arctic” focused on research and development in the Arctic Region started its work at Lake Seliger, Tver Region. 150 people designated to the Arctic from Russia and other countries, members of the Arctic Council participate in the Forum. 51 higher education institutes send their students, post-graduates and workers to attend the event.

The Forum was organized to set a stage to exchange knowledge and experience between talented and ambitious youth, a place to participate in discussions and scientific laboratories. Main topics of the education program are “The Arctic – area of peace and cooperation”; “The Arctic – social and economic development of the region”; “The Arctic – caretaking program”; “The Arctic – science and technologies”.

Most active attendees of the Forum will participate in the expedition to the North Pole.

First Vice-president of the Russian Geographical Society Artur Chilingarov will take part in the Forum.

The event is organized by the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs with the assistance of the Russian Geographical Society.
