The Fort Ross Dialogue international forum finished San Francisco. The venue of the annual international forum was the Fort Ross California Historic Park, a settlement founded by Russian merchants at the beginning of the 19th century.

Russian and American politicians, experts and entrepreneurs took part in the forum. It was attended by Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the USA Anatoly Antonov, California Governor Jerry Brown, Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the United Nations Vassily Nebenzia and others. The forum participants discussed issues of bilateral agenda, economy and cooperation in various fields.

Representatives of the Executive Directorate of the Russian Geographical Society also attended the event. As part of the forum, a number of meetings were held to discuss cooperation between the Russian Geographical Society and the historical park.

The discussion centered on the improvement of the territory of the Fort Ross Park. First Deputy Executive Director of the Russian Geographical Society Ilya Gurov noted that the main partner from the United States was the Science Production Association “Society for the Fort Ross conservation” that was interested in finding sponsors for the development of the park. He called the development of youth exchange between Russia and the United States a key topic.

The Fort Ross Dialogue forum has been held since 2012 with the support of Transneft, together with Sovcomflot and Chevron Neftegaz Inc. Last year the conference was held in Russia for the first time, in Pskov and Izborsk. In May 2018, the forum was held in Veliky Novgorod, where Russian and American experts, businessmen, diplomats and cultural figures discussed issues of cooperation between the archives of Russia and the United States, cybersecurity and global energy. The next Fort Ross Dialogue will take place in Vologda in 2019.
