The 9th of February there took place the Board of Trustees of the Center of the Russian Geographical Society (CRGS) in Serbia. Participants of the event discussed the results of the work of the Center in 2017 and plans for 2018.
The agreement between the Russian and Serbian geographical societies was signed in 2014. In October 2016, the solemn opening ceremony of the Center of the Russian Geographical Society in Serbia took place, in which the President of the Republic Tomislav Nikolic took part. In February 2017, the Board of Trustees of the Center was formed, which included representatives of business and creative intelligentsia of Serbia, in particular, the world-famous film director Emir Kusturica.
The meeting was chaired by the head of the Council Dushan Bayatovich. The keynote speech was delivered by the head of the Center, the vice-president of the Serbian Geographical Society Mirolyub Milinchich. Among the main results of the work of the TSGRS in 2017 were the organization and holding in Serbia of the exhibitions of the participants of the photo contest «The Most Beautiful Country», the summer field practice of Serbian students in Leningrad and Pskov regions of the Russian Federation, and the Geographic dictation on the basis of the Belgrade University.
Miroljub Milinčić said that in 2018 a competition is to be held among students-geographers of the Balkan countries for the right to participate in volunteer programs of the Russian Geographical Society, the organization of summer field practice for Russian children on the basis of the geographical faculty of the University of Belgrade, as well as the Russian Geographical Society Film Festival in Belgrade and Novi Sad.

The Executive Director of the Russian Geographical Society Artem Manukyan, who took part in the meeting, thanked the Serbian side for the fruitful work on popularization of the activities of the Russian Geographical Society in Serbia and the strengthening of relations between our countries. He presented Dushan Bayatovich and Mirolyu Milinchich with diplomas of honor, signed by the President of the Russian Geographical Society Sergey Kuzhugetovich Shoygu.
