The lighthouses of Russia

The exhibition «The lighthouses of Russia» is open in the Alexander Garden in St. Petersburg in honor of the 190th anniversary of the Hydrographic service. This scale project is being organized by the Russian Geographical Society, the Main command of the Navy of Russia and the Department of navigation and oceanography Ministry of defense of Russia with the support of the Administration of the Admiralty district of St. Petersburg.

The exhibition tells about the history of national hydrography, lighthouses of the Baltic, Northern, Pacific, Black sea fleets and the history of the lighthouse service. The part of the stands is dedicated to hydrographic researches of the Arctic and circumnavigations of hydrographic ships.

Besides, the exhibition contains materials about the history of the naval parades in Russia. It also presents the materials of the photography of a multiyear project «the Light of the Baltic» and images, that were sent to the contest "Lighthouses of Russia" in 2016. This contest was organized by the Navy of Russia and the Russian Geographical Society. This exhibition will excite the hydrographers, military and civilian sailors, cadets, ship builders and anyone who is interested in history.

The "Lighthouses of Russia" exhibition will be decorating the Alexander Garden in St. Petersburg till September the 3rd.
