The Russian Geographical Society continues to open its centers on the basis of the Russian Navy.

So, in March 2018 a center of the Russian Geographical Society was opened on the basis of the Joint Strategic Northern Fleet Command.

This year the Center is going to take part in an expedition to the Novaya Zemlya archipelago. Specialists will study routes of pioneering explorers, determine the location of former military units and airfields. Expeditions of the new center of the Russian Geographical Society will also explore the coast of the Pechengsky Bay, the Rybachiy and Middle peninsulas.

Moreover, now Sevastopol is preparing to open a new center on the basis of the Black Sea Fleet Command. Thus, 405 officers, sailors and civil specialists of the Black Sea Fleet have already become members of the Society. They will work for the Sevastopol branch of the Russian Geographical Society and the new center.

The headquarters of the Russian Geographical Society in Sevastopol is located in the building of the museum and exhibition complex "Konstantinovskaya battery", restored by the Russian Geographical Society, one of the “visiting cards” of Sevastopol.
