An exhibition of the works of the participants of the photo contest of the Russian Geographical Society "The Most Beautiful Country" opened in the Russian Embassy in the USA. The opening of the exhibition is timed to the state reception on the occasion of the Day of Diplomatic Worker, that is celebrated in Russia annually on 10 February.

In good tradition, we were joined by colleagues from the embassies of the CIS countries, with whom we are associated not only with a common diplomatic history and vocational school, but also a really warm, trusting relationship. Dear guests, we are always glad to see you at the embassy, - said Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the USA Anatoly Antonov in his welcoming speech. - Our active participation in world affairs is subordinated to the certain task - to the creation of favorable prerequisites for the ongoing internal development of Russia, strengthening its potential and improving the quality of life of our citizens."

In total, the exhibition at the embassy presented 23 photos of the winners and finalists of the III and IV RGS photo contests. Guests of the exhibition can get acquainted with the traditions of the indigenous peoples of Russia, see rare animals, explore the mysterious caves and the depths of the sea. The geography of the shooting covers many regions of Russia - from the Kaliningrad region to the Kamchatka region, from the Murmansk region to the Chechen Republic. Many shots were taken in hard-to-reach places in protected areas.

The photo contest "The Most Beautiful Country" is a media project of the Russian Geographical Society. The competition is dedicated to the preservation of Russian wildlife and the promotion of solicitous attitude to the environment. It was held in 2015 for the first time. About 400 thousand pictures have been uploaded to the project site photo.rgo.ru for 4 years. The rules of creative competition are not limited by age and place of residence of participants. The main condition is that the territory of Russia should be captured in the photos. Exhibitions of the photo contest participants are regularly held in our country and abroad.
