The participants have training classes with rescuers of the Elbrus high-altitude search and rescue unit of the Ministry of Emergency of Russia.
The camp of the "Altair" Youth Club was set up in the Chegem paradrome area, located in the Kabardino-Balkar Republic, almost on the border with Georgia. On the first day the participants leaned how the extreme park worked.
Paragliding, zip-line, rope-jumping, via ferrata routes - all this is a part of the sports program of the park, with which the representatives of the Youth Club got acquainted not only in theory, but also in practice.
Having put on the safety equipment and having been instructed, under supervision of professionals, the geographers set off along the via ferrata route - a three-kilometer path along the rocky shelf, with ups and downs equipped with safety rails.
Next day the travelers passed along the upper Chegem gorge. The ascent along the side gorge of Shaurut to the glacier of the same name, which gives rise to one of the tributaries of the Chegem River, was the main goal of the hike.
At the first stage of the School of Security, the activists worked out rules for providing first aid for various injuries and learned how to save drowning people.
