Summer Internship Started in Serbia

The summer internship started in Serbia. 15 young men and women from different Russian regions, active members and leaders of the RGS youth clubs, as well Serbian students are taking part in it.  

On the first day of the internship the young people went on a guided tour around Belgrade; they visited the Serbian Center of the Russian Geographical Society, the Church of Saint Mark and the Church of Saint Sava, walked through the cozy streets of the capital of Serbia and talked with representatives of the Russian Center of Science and Culture, also known as the "Russian house".   

The participants also visited the southern part of Serbia and the Danube banks, the village of Banat-Palanka, where the young people met with the legend of the world cinema Emir Kusturica, a member of the Russian Geographical Society and a member of the Board of Trustees of the Russian Geographical Society Center in Serbia. Emir Kusturica spoke about his love for Russia, shared stories from his professional life and answered different questions.

The program participants will then study the physical and geographical features of the Kopaonik mountain range (the maximum ascent height is 2000 meters), visit tourist, industrial and agricultural facilities of the regional and national level, as well as take part in the business internship program.

Kopaonik is a mountain range in Central Serbia, located in the Rash and Rasin districts. Its length is 83 kilometers and the highest peak is Pančić's Peak (2017 meters above the sea level).

The internship will last until July 14.
