All of them are winners and participants of different contests and olympiads on geography, ecology, ethnography etc.

During geographical session kids get acknowledged with scientific achievements, meet with travelers and researchers, scientists and photographers, master expeditionary and fieldwork skills, and develop their own research projects.

Mission of the specialized session is preservation and augmentation of intellectual capacity of Russia, and extension of experience of the Youth Movement of the Russian Geographical Society.

Kids shared their impressions on meeting with researchers.

Sofia Petrenko:

“It was great to meet chairman of the speleology commission of the RGO Krasnodar regional branch Andrey Ostapenko. He told us not only about fundamentals of speleology but about its “hidden pitfalls” as well: how to behave yourself if you stuck in “narrowness” or “vertical angle” and how you should make plane surveying in these conditions. Andrey Ostapenko says that “path to the cave isn’t always easy and safe but it is worth the effort”.

Elena Lubashevskaya:

“I liked meeting with professor of Kuban University Boris Eletsky. He is also the chair of the commission on the Black and the Azov seas of the RGO Krasnodar regional branch. He told us about innovative marine technologies, establishment of the first shellfish farm, ecological problems of the Russian south seas and about environmental activities in these water areas. We had a lot of questions to ask so Mr. Eletsky spent plenty of time answering them.

At the end of the session which ends on 14 March kids will have to defend their projects. Authors of the best projects will receive special gifts.
