The tenth thematic session of the Russian Geographical Society "World of discovery" has ended in the Far East. 100 young geographers – the winners of the national qualifying contest – have taken part in this forum.
The experts on the history of development of the Far East, geography, toponymy, flora, fauna, minerals and environment of the Primorsky region, members of the expedition to the Bikin River have told about their scientific fields in the children's place "Brigantine", having become a home for boys and girls for 21 days.
Young people got the opportunity to replenish their knowledge in different subjects connected with the geography of Russia. For three weeks they were being involved in the activities of the oldest social organization, also they were studying the geographical discipline, were popularizing the unique natural resources of our country with the help of the specialists of the Russian Geographical Society.

The chief of the profile session of the Russian Geographical Society in the all-Russian children's centers Ivan Chaika and the Chairman of the Primorsky regional branch of Russian geographical society Alexei Buyakov have taken part in ceremony of closing of session. Honorary guests have awarded activists of the session – the winners in various categories.
Ivan Chaika has thanked the children for participation in the session "the World of discoveries":
– I hope in the nearest future in your native area you will contribute to the realization of the projects of the Russian Geographical Society.
We should remind you that the idea of holding the profile sessions of the Russian Geographical Society in the biggest children`s centers of Russia such as "Orlyonok", "Smena", "Artek" and "Ocean" was for the first time implemented in 2015. The organizer of the profile sessions of the Society "The World of discoveries" is the Krasnodar regional branch of the Russian Geographical Society. The main aim of the project is preservation and multiplication of intellectual potential of Russia.
