From 19 to 26 August 2018, the international summer school of Russian Geographical Society "Geography for all" will take place in St. Petersburg. St. Petersburg National Research University of information technologies, mechanics and optics (ITMO) will be a partner of the event. This year the Summer school will be devoted to the popularization of geography.

Participants of the Summer school will work on group projects, which will be evaluated by a professional jury. As a result, a winner will be chosen, and this team will be provided an opportunity to put its project into reality with the assistance and under the auspices of the Society.

 In addition, during the Summer school, young specialists will visit meetings with public figures, journalists, photographers, travelers, TV presenters. They will attend lectures by famous scientists; they will take part in master classes, geographical quests, team games, and excursions.

In particular, leading Russian and foreign scientists in the field of physical, economic, social geography, ecology and environmental protection, representatives of government authorities and institutions will give lectures.

The participants will learn the specifics of the organization of geographical events; they will get experience of organizational work from outstanding researchers. In addition, young men and women will be able to widen personal, professional and business ties, to participate in joint projects with leading experts in various fields of science.

The scientific and organizational committee of the school will be headed by first Vice-President of the Russian Geographical Society, President of the Geography Faculty of MSU, academician Nikolai Kasimov.

The organizers will pay for accommodation, travel and meals, as well as provide the students with the necessary carry-away items, materials and literature. Foreign participants will be provided with visa support.
