On December 27, the last of a series of cultural and educational events dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the Prosecutor's Office of the Russian Federation and the 100th anniversary of the Prosecutor's Office in Murmansk took place within the framework of the project of the Murmansk Regional Branch of the Murmansk Region supported by the Ministry of Culture of the Murmansk Region.

A book published as part of the project was presented during the event. The book was prepared jointly with the regional supervisory authority and the Global Media agency under the editorship of the Prosecutor of the Murmansk region, State Adviser of Justice of the 3rd class Sergey Pavolin. The total circulation amounted to 670 copies.

Chairman of the Murmansk Regional Branch of the Russian Geographical Society Denis Moiseev presented the project “Celebrating the 300th anniversary of the Public Prosecutor's Office of Russia” aimed at promoting patriotic feelings and civic engagement and raising awareness among young people about the activities and history of the Prosecutor's Office of the Russian Federation.

He spoke about the joint work on the book together with the Murmansk supervisory Authority and the Global Media agency and about the main goal of the project – to show the historical role of the Prosecutor's office in the formation of the state apparatus in Murmansk.

“Before the appearance of the Prosecutor's office in Murmansk, chaos and a certain lawlessness reigned here in many ways. The appearance of the supervisory authority in August 1922 determined the vector of development of the Kola Arctic,” he stressed.

Igor Burlakov, Senior Assistant of the Prosecutor of the Murmansk Region for Media Relations, spoke about the great work carried out in the process of publishing the book and thanked everyone who participated in it.

“300 years is a glorious, hard path in the name of the rule of law on Russian soil. A huge number of people were involved in the preparation of the book dedicated to this date – almost all employees of the Prosecutor's office, representatives of libraries, the Ministry of Culture, the Global Media agency and the Russian Geographical Society,” he said.

Sergey Goncharov, a member of the Council of the MRB RGS, summed up the results of the project, noting that it was of great importance for the Murmansk Regional Branch of the RGS.

“This is a great book containing so much information. Speaking about the importance of the project for our Branch, I would like to note once again how close geography, law and government are. Geography and history, which we are engaged in, can not exist separately from the state enforcement apparatus,” he said.
