The 21st of February at the Head Quarters of the Russian Geographical Society there took place the ceremony of signing of an agreement between the Russian Geographical Society and the Fund «Mountainous Abkhazia». The document is devoted to the joint activities of both organizations in the field of archeology.
The agreement was signed by the First Vice-President of the Russian Geographical Society, Academician Nikolay Kasimov and the head of the «Mountainous Abkhazia» foundation Tengiz Tarba. The deputy of the State Duma Dmitry Belik, Abkhazia's trade representative in Russia Oleg Bartsits and other statesmen took part in the event.
The presenter of the ceremony was the famous Abkhaz designer Rasid Lakoba.
Within the frames of the agreement there are planned for summer 2018 joint archaeological expeditions of the Russian Geographical Society and the Foundation to the ancient human settlements in the mountains of Abkhazia. The scientists must establish the date of the emergence of structures, as well as determine their purpose, and also investigate the paleoclimatic situation in the region.
«We are glad that we have an opportunity to sign the agreement with the Russian Geographical Society. Our cooperation opens new horizons for the development of projects of the fund. We hope to find a partner in the person of the Society, which will provide expert support in the implementation of the plans», - Tengiz Tarba emphasized.
