The Ambassador Of The Dominican Republic Visited The RGS Headquarters In Moscow

On July 1, a delegation from the Embassy of the Dominican Republic in the Russian Federation visited the Headquarters of the Russian Geographical Society in Moscow. The parties expressed mutual interest in developing relations between our states through humanitarian cooperation. Agreements have been reached on maintaining a dialogue on this matter.

Sergei Korlykhanov, First Deputy Executive Director of the RGS, told Ramon Alejandro Arias Zarzuela, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Dominican Republic to the Russian Federation, and Luis Fernando Rodriguez Santos, Ambassador and Adviser to the Embassy, about the history and modern activities of the Russian Geographical Society.

The guests got acquainted with the RGS Headquarters, visited the hall of the winners of the Konstantinovskaya Medal. During the tour, members of the embassy delegation got to see encyclopedic reference books and textbooks of the XIX–XX centuries with sketches from the Caribbean and Latin America, modern popular science publications devoted to the study of this region, historical artifacts found during numerous expeditions.
