Announcing Winners Of IX Photo Contest Of The RGS "The Most Beautiful Country"

On October 12, Triumph Gallery in Moscow hosted the award ceremony of the winners of the IX International Photo Contest of the Russian Geographical Society "The Most Beautiful Country". The guests of the festival saw an amazing multimedia show in which static photos came to life, the image space was filled with action, and the audience was immersed in the atmosphere of creative search. The colorful presentation allowed the participants to feel the emotional content of the photographs as much as possible, to understand the author's idea.

“The photo contest ‘The Most Beautiful Country’ is dedicated to the extraordinary nature of Russia. But it's also about people, about our history, culture, traditions. Photographers conduct scrupulous research, compile a chronicle of modernity. The Russian Geographical Society has been engaged in this work on the study of the country since its inception, since the middle of the 19th century,” said President of the Russian Geographical Society Sergei Shoigu in his address to the participants of the award ceremony.

The winners of the contest "The Most Beautiful Country":

Sascha Fonseca, Dubai, United Arab Emirates ("Wild Animals");

Kirill Sergeev, Moscow ("Russia from a Bird's Eye View");

Elena Goldfarb, Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky ("Elemental Magic");

Nadezhda Muravyeva, Moscow ("Birds");

Oksana Mylnikova, Penza ("The Art of Wildlife (fine-art photography)");

Andrey Serdyuchenko, Svetly Village, Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Area – Yugra ("Faces of Russia");

Anatoly Brachisty, Vladimir ("Macroworld");

Yulia Dudorova, Moscow ("Taken on a Smartphone");

Alexander Lobatseyev, Tobolsk, Tyumen Region ("Live Archive", the photographer also received the People’s Choice Award).

Two winners received special prizes from the contest partners:

After the award ceremony, the guests had the opportunity to learn the secrets of creating prize-winning works from the winners of "The Most Beautiful Country", ask the jury members about the criteria for evaluating photos, hear the organizers' story about the details of the next, anniversary, photo contest of the Russian Geographical Society, the submissions for which will open at the end of 2023.

The works of the winners of the IX Photo Contest "The Most Beautiful Country" can already be seen on the streets of Moscow, including near the Moscow Headquarters of the Russian Geographical Society.
