There is completed the voting on the Award of the Russian Geographical Society of 2016 in the «Public acceptance» nomination on the website of the Russian Geographical Society. 25 applications were presented to the public. At the present moment there is a check of voting results.
The announcement and awarding ceremony of the laureates of the Award of the Russian Geographical Society will take place in the end of November. The date and time of the ceremony will be announced later.
The Award of the Russian Geographical Society – is an award in the field of national geography, ecology, preservation and popularization of the natural, historical and cultural heritage of Russia.
It is awarded for the projects and achievements, which were successfully implemented to life.
It is being held every two years and has an international status. It was handed in for the first time in 2014.
The acceptance of applications started the 1st of July and was completed the 30th of September, and for these three months there were received more than 400 projects from all over Russia, and from the other countries of the world as well. The geography of the Award applicants is vast: there are such countries as Brazil, Greece, Turkey, Malta, Uzbekistan, Belarus, etc.
