On August 15, started a research expedition to Kamchatka, organized by the Novosibirsk regional branch of the Russian Geographical Society in cooperation with the tourist club "Your Way". It is dedicated to the 175th anniversary of the Russian Geographical Society. The project participants will climb the volcanoes Mutnovsky, Gorely, Plosky Tolbachik; visit caves and canyons, go kayaking along Avacha Bay, and meet with the scientists at the “Vulkanarium” Museum. On the anniversary of the Russian Geographical Society, August 18, the travelers will celebrate the holiday at the foot of the Gorely volcano, and will also take part in the "Night of Geography" campaign and give a lecture on volcanoes.
The expedition will take place from 15 to 28 August. Members of the Russian Geographical Society, geologists, archaeologists, journalists, as well as members of their families will participate in the project - the expedition team will include 18 people. The youngest participant, Olga Vronskaya, is 9 years old.

The "Night of Geography" campaign is timed to coincide with the 175th anniversary of the Russian Geographical Society. It will take place throughout Russia, but the main events will take place at the Headquarters of the Russian Geographical Society in Moscow and at the regional offices of the Society. Lectures by famous scientists, travelers and photographers, intellectual quizzes, film screenings of documentaries, and exhibitions are planned for the guests of the event. All “Nights of Geography” start after 18:00.
The head of the expedition is a seasoned traveler with 15 years of experience, Natalya Lalova from Novosibirsk, who heads the tourist club "Your Way". There are many expeditions and hikes in Altai, Kamchatka, Baikal under her belt.
One of the expedition members is Evgeny Bezborodov, author and director of the documentary series "Ancestors of our ancestors" (TV channel "Culture - Russia"). He will prepare a special report that will be released on the “Ancestors of Our Ancestors” YouTube channel.
