On March 1, a cooperation agreement between the Russian Geographical Society and the Krasnodar Territory Administration was signed. The signing ceremony was held at the Society HQ in Moscow. The cooperation is aimed at promoting the study of geography and related sciences in the region and promoting geography awareness among citizens.
First Vice President of the Russian Geographical Society, Special representative of the Russian President on Arctic and Antarctic, Hero of Russia Artur Chilingarov and governor of the Krasnodar Territory Veniamin Kondratyev signed the document.
“The Krasnodar Territory is very powerful geographically, you have a wonderful regional branch of the Russian Geographical Society that supports many projects. We are open to further cooperation. Especially since Veniamin Ivanovich is a polar explorer and a traveler in soul; we went together to an expedition in 2015, "said the First Vice President of the Society.
As part of the agreement, joint ecological, tourism and expedition projects, joint conferences, science seminars, contests, festivals and exhibitions are scheduled. The parties intend to join in an effort to educate residents of the Kuban about careful attitude to the region, its cultural heritage and nature.
