The Organizing Committee of the Award in the field of national geography, ecology, conservation and promotion of natural, historical and cultural heritage of Russia "Crystal Compass" has begun accepting applications for participation. Bidding campaign, as in the last year, will end on March 1.
Following the results of the Award winners will be selected in 11 categories: "Scientific achievement"; "Enlightenment"; "Best social media project on conservation of natural, historical and cultural heritage"; "Best ecological project of industrial enterprises"; "Travel and Expedition"; "Best Media Coverage"; "Publication"; "Photo work"; "Civil position"; "Best regional project"; "Public Recognition".
The third ceremony will be held in April 2015 in Krasnodar.

The "Crystal Compass" is the first award in the field of national geography, ecology, conservation and promotion of natural, historical and cultural heritage of Russia.
It was instituted in November 2012 by Krasnodar regional branch of the Russian Geographical Society with the support of corporate association "Gazprom Kuban". The initiative was presented to President of the Russian Geographical Society Sergei Shoigu and received his support.
In three years more than 300 authors and research teams from 71 regions of Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, USA, Egypt and other countries participated in the Award. During the online voting more than 270 million users got acquainted with best projects.
"The main goal of the Award is to find and support best achievements and practical projects aimed to conserve natural, historical and cultural heritage of our country, to support those who sincerely believe Russia their home, respect and protect the environment in which we live. Among them are individuals, businesses, creative teams, academics and public officials - all those whose example, whose work will help the public discover new reasons to be proud of their homeland, "- says chairman of the Organizing Committee of the Award, Chairman of Krasnodar regional branch of the Russian Geographical Society Ivan Chaika.
The Award is presented annually on a competitive basis to citizens of the Russian Federation and foreign states, institutions and enterprises for achievement of significant results in the field of national geography and ecology, conservation and promotion of natural, historical and cultural heritage of Russia.
Famous scientists, public figures, businesses and government authorities’ representatives are among members of the jury: Vladimir Kotlyakov, Artur Chilingarov, Yuri Vorobiev, Nikolay Drozdov, Alexander Frolov, Oleg Aksyutin, Viktor Savinykh, Anastasia Chernobrovina, Vitaly Sundakov, Yuri Efremov, Sergey Dudko and others.
