Submissions for the Crystal Compass National Award are now open. 

The Crystal Compass National Award, an award in geography and ecology, has been given since 2012. It is aimed at finding and promoting the best achievements and projects focused on the conservation of nature and historical and cultural heritage of the country.

Winners will be chosen in 11 categories: scientific achievement; education; the best social and information project for the preservation of natural, historical and cultural heritage, the best environmental project of industrial enterprises; travelling and expeditions; the best media coverage; publishing; photographs; citizenship; the best regional project; public recognition.

Applications are accepted on the website: rus-compass.ru.

The award is held under the auspices of the Russian Geographical Society and Gazprom Company. Organizers are the Krasnodar regional branch of the Russian Geographical Society and "Gazprom in Kuban" Corporation.

Submissions will be open till February 10, 2019. Then the projects will be selected by experts to choose 10 winners. A winner in the Public recognition category will be chosen by internet voting.

The finalists will be announced in April 2019, all of them will receive an invitation to the award ceremony (it will be held in May), where the winners will be named.

The award is held under the auspices of the Russian Geographical Society and Gazprom Company. Organizers are the Krasnodar regional branch of the Russian Geographical Society and "Gazprom in Kuban" Corporation.
