Delegation from Argentina Visits Headquarters of RGS in Moscow

On October 12, a delegation from the Argentine Republic headed by the country's Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Russia Eduardo Zuain visited the Headquarters of the Russian Geographical Society in Moscow. The ambassador of Argentina got acquainted with the history and modern activities of the Russian Geographical Society and expressed interest in developing bilateral relations between our countries through humanitarian cooperation.

The guests saw part of the collection of maps and unique publications stored at the Headquarters of the Russian Geographical Society that are of great value, including to the Argentine public.

During the meeting initiated by the Argentine side with the participation of First Deputy Executive Director of the Russian Geographical Society Ilya Gurov, such important issues as the preservation of toponymic heritage, the dissemination of reliable information about geographical objects, as well as the establishment of a sustainable exchange of experience between specialists from Russia and Argentina were raised. The parties expressed their desire and also agreed on the need to expand the range of interaction between the relevant departments and organizations of the two countries, to establish the work trajectory of the RGS in Argentina at different levels, including through the support of compatriots.

Eduardo Zuain assured of his intention to explore the prospects of the interaction discussed at the meeting and to transmit concrete proposals to Buenos Aires.
