The «Encyclopedia of the Sea of Okhotsk» has been published

"Komsomolskaya Pravda" with the grant support of the Russian Geographical Society released the "Encyclopedia of the Sea of Okhotsk". The large-format 160-page book was the result of the Far Eastern expeditions of the journal's journalists.

The encyclopedia is published in Russian and English. It included materials collected over several years. The Komsomolka team rafted along the Far Eastern rivers of Okhotormory, participated in a snowmobile expedition to Kamchatka and studied the water area of the Sea of Okhotsk along the Great Kurile chain.

The publication includes not only information about the straits, streams, rivers of the Okhotsk Sea. Encyclopedia covers the history of the development of the Far East, introduces the indigenous population of the region, tells about the animal and plant world of coastal areas, ichthyofauna and marine life, as well as numerous islands of the water area, including the most famous ones - Sakhalin, Kuriles and Shantar archipelago.

Encyclopedia is richly illustrated - it presents more than two hundred unique photographs, reproductions and rare geographical maps.

By tradition, a part of the circulation of the encyclopedia will be transferred to the Russian Geographical Society and will be sent to sponsored school libraries in the Far Eastern region.
