There starts the 63rd Russian Antarctic Expedition from St Petersburg in October. On board of «Academician Fedorov» the young scientists from the Scientific and Information Center «Polar Initiative» will conduct various experiments and studies. The participants of the profile session of the Russian Geographical Society «The world of discoveries» gave the flags of the Russian Geographical Society, «Artek» and the «Lesnoy» camp to the polar explorers, who will raise them over the Russian Antarctic station «Progress».
The director of the Polar Initiative Nikita Kuprikov and the representative of the Expedition Center of the Russian Geographical Society Dmitry Mamadaliev were handed in the flags by the young geographers.

« It is very responsible - to carry out such a mission and deliver the flag of «Artek» to Antarctica, - Nikita Kuprikov says. – The principals of «Artek» and light, friendly movement of the Artek people coincide with the main provisions of the international treaty on the Antarctic."
And Dmitry Mamadaliev is sure: «The flags which visited Antarctica, would give the children opportunity to be proud by the fact that they were involved in this. And we will help them to reach the peaks». He has been leading educational program «Young Polar explorer» in the «Artek», and he is sure that the participants of the profile session of the Russian Geographical Society have all the opportunities to achieve almost whatever goals and vertices.
Exactly one year later, the flags will return to Artek, in order to open the next change of the Russian Geographical Society in one of the children's camps. Thus, a new tradition has appeared in Artek.

The head of the profile sessions of the Russian Geographical Society, the chairman of the Krasnodar regional branch of the Society Ivan Chaika notes that every young connoisseur of geography in this profile session has become the owner of the Pioneer Diary. The children are fixing their own discoveries, they are making notes about important events and meetings with interesting people. And flag transfer to the white continent will appear in this handbook of Artek people. After all, the guys felt ownership of the great business that our country is doing in Antarctica, to the activities of outstanding researchers.
The profile sessions of the Russian Geographical Society have been held in the biggest childrens` centers of Russia: «Orlyonok», «Smena», «Artek» and «Ocean» from 2015. For this time more than 2300 children have taken part in it. Krasnodar regional branch of the Russian Geographical Society is organizing the profile sessions of the Russian Geographical Society «The world of discoveries».
