The 13th of February at 15:00 there will take place the screening of the first part of popular science series «The frost» within the frames of the project «Documental cinema story» in the lecture hall of the main building of the State Historical Museum in Moscow, and meeting with the creative team of the film as well.
This project has been created with the grant support of the Russian Geographical Society and represents the most detailed survey of low temperature in the history of national television. The first part tells about the origin and death of civilizations depending on the climate changes on those or other natural areas.
What is the role of the frost in in human history? The authors of the series are sure that the frost had been giving birth to civilizations and had been ruining them, conquering death and had been the cause of death of millions. Some hated him, others worshiped. People face it each day, but most part of them does not know with what actually has to deal. In addition to an interesting plot, there are many new facts the movie contains, they are the facts of geography, history, medicine, glaciology, physics and psychology.
The project shooting took place in 2015 in Russia, Antarctica, Greenland, Great Britain, Norway, Finland, the USA, India and Argentina.
