The venues of the Geographical Dictation are registered at the two Russian Antarctic stations – “Progress” and “Mirny”. Thus, the international educational event of the Russian Geographical Society will be held for the first time in Antarctica.
At the moment, there are venues of the Geographical Dictation on all six continents. There are more than four thousand of them. Universities, schools, research institutes, libraries, museums and reserves traditionally join the event.
Among the registered venues this year are the Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology, "Leo Tolstoy’s Museum-Estate ‘Yasnaya Polyana’" State Memorial and Nature Reserve, Krasnoyarsk Stolby National Park, Wrangel Island State Nature Reserve, Sayano-Shushensky State Nature Reserve, Moscow State Stroganov Academy of Design and Applied Arts.
Among the venues for the event abroad are the company "ROSATOM Central and South Africa", the Center of the Russian Geographical Society in France, the Consulate General of the Russian Federation on the Spitsbergen Archipelago, the Permanent Mission of the Russian Federation to the UN and other international organizations in Geneva.
This year, on November 14th, the event will take place for the seventh time. It will be possible to test your knowledge on-site or remotely at the specialized venues, as well as online, on the website of the event dictant.rgo.ru. Any organization in Russia and foreign countries can register a venue for the event. This can be done until November 5 inclusive.
In the event of a worsening epidemiological situation in a region, the venues will be able to change the format of the event from on-site to remote.
