Why do you need to know the Earth structure? What does a well on the Kola Peninsula "sing"? How can the knowledge about minerals be used in life? The Russian Geographical Society invites everyone to take part in a meeting of the youth intellectual club: "Geography for all: how to make earth science popular?" The event will take place November 29 at the Moscow Headquarters of the Russian Geographical Society.
The RGS youth intellectual club was created in 2015. Enthusiastic and curious students, postgraduates and young specialists participate in its meetings. Anyone between 14 and 35 can participate in the activities of the club.
The meeting will be held in the form of team debates, where participants and experts will discuss the problem of the relationship between science and society, in particular, whether science is popular among young people, whether geography should be popularized and who should be engaged in this promotion.
During the discussion, participants should suggest ways to promote geography and prove that they are effective. Following the debate, experts will choose the best speaker.
The meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. Register here.
