We should remind you that the agreement on cooperation between the geographical societies of Russia and Serbia (the RGS and the SGS) was signed at the Festival of the Russian Geographical Society in October of 2014. Two years later there was open the Center for the Development of the Russian Geographical Society in Serbia.

There had been prepared saturated program of the summer practice for the guests from Belgrade. Together with their Russian peers, Serbian students took rock samples in the natural outcrop and in the underground cavities of the Sablin caves, they studied the valleys of the Sablinka and Tosna rivers, as well as the carbonate rocks used in the construction of the Koporje fortress. They got acquainted with the conditions for the morphological appearance of the rocky protrusions of bedrock, which were called «the sheep's foreheads» and «the curly rocks,»  and also they compiled a diagram of the crustal sections in the Baltic shield of the eastern European platform.

The guests visited the Catherine Palace as well, admired the night raise of the bridges on the Neva River, visited the Naval Cathedral, the location of the Kronshtadt Foothstock, the private museum of the Russian submarine business, strolled along the Vyborg Castle, the Annensk fortifications and the Monrepos park. After that, there followed a two-day trip to Pskov.

According to the words of the team leader of Serbian students – the head of the Development Center in Serbia of the Russian Geographical Society Mirolyub Milinchich, the implementation of the student exchange program between the geographical societies of the two countries is being one of the important components of strengthening and developing good-neighborly relations between Serbia and Russia.

Exactly one year ago on the basis of the Faculty of Geography of the Belgrade University, which is located in the mountain range Kopaonik, there was held the first summer geographic and ecological practice. Serbian children were accepting their peers - the students of the Faculty of Natural Sciences, Geography and Tourism of the Leningrad State University named after A.S. Pushkin. Studies conducted in the largest mountain range of Serbia, which, despite its fairly «young» geological age, is being of considerable interest for scientists and researchers, - made an unforgettable impression on Russian students.
