Center for Oceanography and Marine Biology "Moskvarium" at the VDNKh is one of the largest oceanariums in Europe. Visitors of the center can get acquainted with the amazing fauna of the World Ocean and touch the remote areas of the planet. More than 12,000 aquatic creatures live in Moskvarium: sharks, seals, rays, turtles, caimans, octopus, dolphins, sea lions and hundreds of species of fish.
The exhibition is timed to the celebration of the World Day of Whales and Dolphins, which is celebrated on July 23. It includes 20 pictures - the works of the participants of the annual RGS photo contest "The Most Beautiful Country". One of them captures the head of the "Dragon" - a big humpback whale. The author of the picture, Basil Baranyuk, managed to catch a moment when the animal suddenly jumped out of the water and fell on its back next to the traveler's boat. There is the lead-gray seascape of Zheleznaya Bay off the coast of the Kamchatka Peninsula in the photo of Yuri Smithyuk. Two killer whales, passing by the rocks covered with snow, are on the way to the open sea. And in the picture of Julia Diveeva is a pair of Chilean dolphins, which contrast with the azure sea surface. They are very lucky: a fishing seiner had been sailing, all fish was lifted from the bottom and it is much easier for them to search for food.
Entrance to the exhibition is free.
