The 14th of April there took place the ceremonial signing of the agreement between the Government of the Ivanovo Region and the Russian Geographical Society in Moscow Headquarters of the Society.
The agreement of cooperation was endorsed by the signatures of the First Vice-President of the Russian Geographical Society Arthur Chilingarov and the governor of the Ivanovo Region Pavel Konkov. «The cooperation between the Russian Geographical Society and the Government of the Ivanovo Region will enable to realize scientific, educational and ecological projects, important for the region, and to intensify work on patriotic education of youth, to develop tourism», - Pavel Konkov, the governor of the Ivanovo Region said during the signing ceremony.
We would like to remind you, that Pavel Konkov is a Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Ivanovo Region Branch of the Russian Geographical Society.

Having wished an active development to the Ivanovo Region Branch of the Society, Arthur Chilingarov expressed hope that «the signed agreement will bring this work to a new level». The document establishes the basis for the cooperation between the Society and the Government of the Ivanovo Region in the number of areas. The Russian Geographical Society will take part in development and implementing of geography studying programs, and popularization of this science in the region.
Besides, the signed agreement presumes, that the Ivanovo Region and the Russian Geographical Society will cooperate concerning the nature of the region preservation, jointly put into practice the latest achievements of domestic and foreign science in the field of environmental protection. One of the main directions of joint activities will become instilling of love to the native land in children, the expansion of their knowledge about the history of the Ivanovo Region, environmental education.
It is supposed that the Russian Geographical Society will take part in the development and implementation of the programs on study, preservation and development of the natural potential of the region, ensuring its environmental safety. The parties also agreed on cooperation in the field of organization and implementation of tourism activities on the territory of the Ivanovo Region.
