The fifth Geographical Dictation of the Russian Geographical Society will take place on October 27, 2019. 5831 venues were registered in Russia and abroad. Everyone can take part in this large-scale educational campaign! And here is the instruction how to do it.
Step 1. Choose a venue to write the Dictation.
Go to the official website of the Geographical Dictation dictant.rgo.ru.
In the "Geography of the Dictation" section ("География диктанта"), choose the nearest venue for you in the list or on the map and click on the link "Go to the Venue Page" ("Перейти на страницу площадки").
Step 2. Register at the selected venue
On the venue’s page you will find the conditions for participation, contact details of the organizers, the registration procedure at the venue, information on the number of places and access for persons with disabilities.
Also, do not forget to find out from the organizers what documents are needed to enter the venue: it can be, for example, a passport or student ID.
Step 3. When to come to the Dictation?
The event starts at all venues at 12:00 local time on October 27, 2019. However, it will be great if you come to the Dictation venue early to receive forms, take a seat without hustle and take part in an exciting quiz! The exact schedule of the venues can be found on their web pages.
Step 4. The Dictation is written - how do you know the result?
After the end of the Dictation, hand over the answer form to the venue employee and take with you the note form with your individual number.
Find out the personal result of writing the Dictation after November 29, 2019. To do this, enter the individual number of the participant in the field on the website dictant.rgo.ru.
You can also write the Dictation online. It starts on the website dictant.rgo.ru at 14:00 Moscow time on October 27. It will be possible to write the Dictation online within five days - until 14:00, October 31.
The Geographical Dictation of the RGS is a large-scale educational campaign initiated by the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin. This year it is held by the Russian Geographical Society for the fifth time. It is already known that this year the action will take place at more than 5700 venues on five continents. The Dictation will be written in Russia, the USA, Australia, Canada, Brazil, Germany, Cambodia, Greece, Norway, Pakistan, South Africa, New Zealand and many other countries. The event will be held in universities, schools, libraries, but not only there. The Dictation will be written on trains, at railway stations, in the ethnopark, nature reserves and "Russia Is my History" parks, in the Moscow Moskvarium and Izmailovsky Kremlin in Moscow and on the St. Petersburg ship-museum cruiser "Aurora".
