During all that time boys and girls were having a very rich program. Thus, besides the short course of lectures on the sustainable development of the Arctic region, having been prepared and held with the direct participation of the Arctic University (Tromso) teachers, they took part in the opening ceremony of the «Arctic frontiers», meetings of the political, scientific and business sessions of the conference.

Our students had also a meeting with the Ambassador at Large of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia, the Representative of the Russian Federation in the Arctic Council Vladimir Barbin and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation in Norway Teimuraz Ramishvili. The Russian diplomats told the young people about the modern approach of Russia to the development of the Arctic Region and answered their numerous questions.

Besides, the Norwegian founders of the Forum organized for the students of various countries the visit to the building of the Provincial Council of the province of Tromso and a meeting with its head Cecilia Myurset, who told the children about the structure and activity of the regional government. The problems of participation of the Arctic Economic Council in the development of support programs of support of representatives of small and medium business of the countries of the Arctic Region were discussed as well.

The participants of the Forum visited the Norwegian Institute of Food, Fisheries and Aquaculture (NOFIMA) as well, there they got acquainted with advanced technologies in the field of food production. Their visit to the Medical Faculty of the Universityof the Arctic (Tromso) was interesting as well. There was told about the problems and prospects of providing high quality medical care at the high latitudes.

As the Russian students note, their visit to the cruise vessel «Spitsbergen» (Svalbard) of the Hurtigrytten company, being one of the oldest in Norway, became very informative and interesting for them.

On the last day of the work of the Forum, the 25th of January, its participants, having divided into groups, were protecting their projects before the jury. Their projects were dedicated to sustainable development of the Arctic region. Our children were actually «setting the tone» during the presentations, having demonstrated deep immersion to the topic.

According to the words of the secretariat «The Arctic frontiers» and The Norwegian Barents Secretariat, II-nd International students` forum has been held at a high level and almost became an integral part of the international conference «The Arctic frontiers».
