The 19th of September, 2017, a famous Russian ultramarathon participator, a member of the Russian Geographical Society Alexander Kaper completed his 200-day super marathon Moscow-Beijing

The marathon started the 4th of March, 2017, his goal is the development of the good-neighborly relations between Russia and China, strengthening ties in the field of sports and promoting healthy lifestyle. For 200 days Alexander Kaper overcame a distance of 8000 km, he crossed 16 regions of Russia, Kazakhstan, Mongolia and China. The sportsman told the journalists that he had taken 25 pairs of sneakers with him, eight of which were worn during the race.

The 19th of September the Russian, along with a group of Chinese athletes ran the last part of the distance to the Olympic Park in Beijing.  At the finish Alexander was met by the representatives of the Chinese Geographical Society (CGS), and the employees of the Russian Embassy and the Russian Cultural Center in Beijing as well.

The welcoming ceremony was organized by the Chinese Geographical Society with the assistance of the Russian Embassy in China, the Russian Cultural Center in Beijing and with partner support of the Russian Geographical Society.

We should remind you that in 2014 there was signed cooperation agreement between the Russian and Chinese geographical societies, within the frames of which there are being held joint expeditions and exhibitions.
