"The Most Beautiful Country" Travels in Moldova

The photo exhibition of the Russian Geographical Society "The Most Beautiful Country" was opened in the Palace of the Republic in Tiraspol (the Republic of Moldova) on December 12.  Guests of the exhibition can get acquainted with the traditions of the indigenous peoples of Russia, see rare animals, explore the mysterious caves and the bosom of the sea and all that is possible thanks to the unique photographs of Russian photographers.

In total, the exhibition presents 47 works of winners and finalists of the RGS III photo contest "The Most Beautiful Country". These are the photos in the categories "Peoples of Russia", "Russia From a Birds eye View", "Cultural Heritage of Russia", "From Dusk till Dawn". The geography of the shooting covers many regions of our country - from the Republic of Karelia to the Kamchatka Territory, from the Murmansk Region to the Republic of Dagestan. Many shots were made in hard-to-get places in protected areas.

The opening ceremony of the exhibition took place within the framework of the Regional Conference of the Union of Russian Communities of Transdniester. The specialist of Rossotrudnichestvo in Moldova Nikolai Zhuravlev attended at the exhibition. The ceremony was also attended by chairmen and activists of Russian public organizations of Transdniester, heads of several ministries and departments.

The exhibition in Tiraspol is open until December 25, 2018. Recall that until December 17, photographs of participants in the RGS photographic contest can also be seen at the Russian Center for Science and Culture in Kishinev.

The photo contest “The Most Beautiful Country” is a media project of the Russian Geographical Society, in which tens of thousands of photographers annually participate. The competition is dedicated to the preservation of Russian wildlife and the promotion of respect for the environment. For the first time it was held in 2015. During four years of the competition existence, about 400 thousand pictures were uploaded to the project site photo.rgo.ru. The rules of creative competition are not limited by age and place of residence of participants. The main condition is that photos should be taken only on the territory of Russia. Exhibitions of the photo contest participants are regularly held in our country and abroad.

Currently, accepting of photographs for the V photo contest "The Most Beautiful Country" is continuing.
