The results of the competition for the awarding of the Youth Nominee scholarships of the Russian Geographical Society for success in scientific, educational and social activities in 2017.
Ten young men and women from different regions of Russia became the holders of the scholarship. They are the students, graduate students, employees of universities and other educational organizations, leaders and participants of scientific and educational and enlightening projects. The members of the Russian Geographical Society, the heads of the Youth clubs of the Russian Geographical Society and the chairmen of the Council of Young Scientists, holders of grants from the President of the Russian Federation are amongst the holders of a fellowship. The size of the scholarship is 100,000 rubles.
We should remind you that the competition for the right to receive youth Internship scholarships of the Russian Geographical Society was first announced in 2017. Applications were being accepted from June 1 to August 31.
Works for the competition were selected in two categories: «For success in scientific and educational activities in the field of geography and related sciences» and «For success in public activities that meet the goals and objectives of the Russian Geographical Society.»
The main criteria for assessing the activity of children was activity in scientific and social life: academic awards and diplomas for the organization of events, participation in conferences, international programs, as well as the availability of public and scientific positions. Also, publications of candidates for the victory in the mass media and in scientific profiled publications included in the list of the Higher Attestation Commission (VAK) were taken into account, databases Scopus and WoS - for this category in the category «For success in scientific and educational activities in the field of geography and related sciences», participants could get the most points.
In the category «For successes in public activities that meet the goals and objectives of the Russian Geographical Society» there were highly appreciated participation in volunteer projects and own organizational activity of potential fellows.
