The 20th of January there took place the opening ceremony of the IV Festival «Pristine Russia» in the Central House of Artists in Moscow.

The ceremony was attended by the Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation on environmental management, ecology and transport, the Chairman of the organizing committee of the Year of Ecology in Russia Sergey Ivanov, the Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation Vladimir Medinskiy, the First Vice-President of the Russian Geographical Society Arthur Chilingarov and other honored guests.

Arthur Chilingarov wished the participants of the festival fruitful work and invited everyone to the Day of the Russian Geographical Society, which will take place the 11th of February.

«We will hold the Day of the Russian Geographical Society at the Festival, in accordance with the established tradition. I think it will be very interesting and meaningful. I am inviting everyone to take part in its work! I would like to emphasize the uniqueness of the festival and its scale character», - A.Chilingarov noted.

Within the frames of the Day of Russian Geographical Society there will be held meetings with famous explorers and photographers at the festival. Everyone will have an opportunity to watch films, created with the support of the Society.

Popular science lectures, communication with employees of reserves, screenings of documentaries and animated films about nature, master-classes and quests are waiting for the guests of the «Pristine Russia». Each weekend will be dedicated to specific topics, such as the following: environmental protection, science, animals, travel, ethnography, animated and documentary films.

One of the main projects of the Festival is photo exhibition, where the works of the winners of the photo contest of the Russian Geographical Society «The mostbeautiful country» and the works of the other Russian naturalist photographers will be presented. The visitors of the event will be able to see the expressive landscapes of the most remote and beautiful places in Russia from Kaliningrad to Kamchatka, pristine lakes, mountains and coast of the seas, the life of animals and birds and  the mysteries of the microcosm.
