The Federal Agency for the Commonwealth of Independent States, Compatriots Living Abroad and International Humanitarian Cooperation (Rossotrudnichestvo) and the Russian Geographical Society have entered into a cooperation agreement on December 20th. The document was signed by the head of Rossotrudnichestvo, Eleonora Mitrofanova, and First Vice-President of the Russian Geographical Society, Nikolay Kasimov.
The agreement will organize and strengthen the already established close partnership. Organizations will be engaged in the implementation of joint international projects, promotions, exhibitions, youth programs. Under the agreement, it is planned to expand the geography of the projects of the Russian Geographical Society.
We would like to remind you, that the Russian Geographical Society and Rossotrudnichestvo have already successfully implemented joint projects before. The Russian Centers for Science and Culture took part in organizing photo exhibitions of the Russian Geographical Society in more than 20 countries of the world. In 2019, through the efforts of the Rossotrudnichestvo representative offices, the venues of the Geographical Dictation of the Russian Geographical Society were opened in 44 foreign countries.
This year, the Russian Geographical Society and Rossotrudnichestvo also expanded the scope of interaction within the framework of the “New Generation" program, and for the first time conducted joint work on organizing and conducting the international project of the Russian Geographical Society “Summer School “Geography for All””. In 2019, the theme of the Summer School was international humanitarian cooperation. Within the framework of the program, participants from around the world exchanged experience, knowledge and ideas of public initiatives in the field of geography and related sciences; met famous science and public figures, and gained public speaking skills.
