The Russian center for science and culture in Belgrade “Russian House” hosted a gala evening on October 19 dedicated to the seventh anniversary of the work of the Center of the Russian Geographical Society in Serbia, as well as the 79th anniversary of the liberation of the city during World War II.
The guests of the event were presented the results of the work of the RGS Center in 2023 and told about new plans. The event's rich cultural program included performances by the choir and orchestra of the Academic Cultural and Art Society of the University of Belgrade "Španac", as well as the instrumental duet of Sonja Kalajić (violin and musical saw) and Dražen Tikveša (clarinet).
The Center of the Russian Geographical Society in Serbia was officially opened in 2016 in the presence of the country's President Tomislav Nikolic. For seven years it has been making a great contribution to the development of Russian-Serbian cooperation.
Under the auspices of the RGS Center in Serbia, internships of young specialists, exhibitions of photographs of the contest "The Most Beautiful Country", screenings of films shot with the support of the RGS, venues of the Geographical Dictation of the RGS are organized. The Center has published a book "Russian Cultural Heritage in Serbia".
The projects of the RGS Center in Serbia are also being implemented in other countries of the Balkan Peninsula: Northern Macedonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro.
