The annual All-Russian gathering of young tourists with the participation of the RGS has started in North Ossetia. More than 350 schoolchildren from 28 regions of Russia gathered at the alpine camp “Komy-Art” in Digor Gorge of Alania National Park. In two weeks, the children will face exciting challenges: hike through mountainous terrain, complete local history tasks, and participate in creative contests.

This is the first time such a tourist gathering is being held in North Ossetia. This is a great opportunity for young guests to get acquainted with the main sights and natural beauty of the region as well as to develop their hiking and expedition skills. Participants will be divided into teams, each team will be given tasks: walk the chosen route, visit Digor, Alagir, Kurtatinsky, Dargava, and Koban Gorges, take part in a local history quiz and creative contests.

The results of the tourist gathering will be summed up on August 2: the children will have to write and defend a report on their work. All young participants of the competition will receive souvenirs from the Russian Geographical Society. The event was organized by the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation, the Government of the Republic of North Ossetia–Alania, the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of North Ossetia–Alania, the Russian Geographical Society. The project is being implemented with the grant support of the Russian Geographical Society.
