The Russian Geographical Society has started a new tradition. Now there is a P.O.box in the geo shop at the Moscow HQ. When starting for a journey, now you can send yourself a postcard with marks and the seal of the Russian Geographical Society to the point of destination. And while you are going or flying to the end of the world, e.g. to Avacha Bay, the postcard will be following you, and then will be waiting for you at the local post office.
By the way, for those who are going to visit the Far East, there are notable publications ‘Geography of the Kurile Islands’ and ‘Djugdjur’. Illustrated publications about the most remote areas of Russia have become the result of the expedition of journalists from Komsomolskaya Pravda supported by a grant from the Russian Geographical Society
