President of the Russian Geographical Society, Russian Minister of Defense Sergei Shoigu signed cooperation agreements with geographical societies of ten countries: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Spain, Italy, Kyrgyzstan, China, Serbia, Turkey and the Czech Republic.

- The almost 170-year history of the Russian Geographical Society has always implied a very close partnership. A huge number of expeditions were conducted in nearly 170 years in different countries, different continents. And we always felt the help and support of our colleagues, our partners. Today we signed very important agreements for the Society.  As you know, the geography does not recognize borders, because it is impossible to draw borders between researchers, scientists, people who want to know more about our planet, our nature ... We certainly will continue this cooperation, especially since many of our expedition imply the participation of our foreign partners ... We are absolutely sure that the majority of those who signed today an agreement with the Russian geographical Society, will take part in these expeditions and competitions, - said President of the Russian Geographical Society Sergei Shoigu.

The agreements were signed in the framework of the first Festival of the Russian Geographical Society, which takes place from October 31 to November 6 at the Central House of Artists in Moscow.
