Many famous artists were inspired by the beauty of the Russian North: Ivan Shishkin, Arkhip Kuindzhi, Vasily Vereshchagin, Ivan Kramskoy, Alexander Borisov. The nature of the Arctic gives a talented person inexhaustible opportunities for creative discoveries. An example of this is the experience of a Moscow artist and member of the Russian Geographical Society, Oksana Lebedeva.

The online exhibition consists of three dozen works – watercolors and photographs. Oksana has a special gift to see and feel a place, its colors and shades, breath and hidden vibrations.

“Most of all I was inspired and trained by traveling with watercolors and brushes,” says the artist. “These two hobbies merged into one and turned into true love. I began to organize plein air sessions myself. So, with groups of artists, we visited different parts of Russia, Europe, traveled around Nepal. Now it is very interesting for me to travel to the north of Russia, observe and study the nature, history and culture of these lands. And through art, to share impressions with others.”
