The RGS Youth Club named 13 lucky people who were selected to participate in the RGS International Internship in the Altai Republic.
Among them are young people from Vietnam, India, Indonesia, Kenya, Mongolia, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and Kazakhstan.
The RGS International Internship is a project aimed at developing cooperation between Russian and foreign youth in the field of geography, ecology, and tourism.
The internship will take place from August 14 to August 20, 2022. Its participants will meet with scientists, teachers, public figures of the region, study the experience of the youth clubs of the Russian Geographical Society in the Siberian Federal District. At the meetings, foreign guests will present their own initiatives, discuss important activity guidelines and the results of projects in the field of geography and related sciences.
Within the framework of the program, the project participants will visit the main attractions, museums, and specially protected natural areas of the region, get acquainted with the culture and traditions of the indigenous population of Altai.
“We have prepared a rich program for the participants. They will be able to visit the most interesting natural and cultural places of the Altai Republic and get acquainted with the work of public environmental organizations," said project manager Valentina Sitnikova.
The project is being carried out with the grant support of the RGS.
