The 3rd of April, 2016 there was launched the thematic change of the Russian Geographical Society named «The World of Discoveries».

There will take part about 100 girls and boys from 24 regions of Russia in it. They are the winners of international and All-Russian Olympiads and contests, the volunteers and participants of the projects of the Russian Geographical Society.

The change was open by the Chairman of Krasnodar Regional Branch of the Russian Geographical Society, the Public Chamber member Ivan Chaika. He read aloud the address of the President of the Society Sergey Shoygu: «I hope that many years later, when you become the real human beings - known scientists, brave captains and talented teachers, you will remember the changes of the Russian Geographical Society in children`s camps as the event, which helped you make the right choice in your life. And now – go forward, to the new discoveries! Good luck to you and all the kindest!»

Ivan also wished new discoveries, interesting meetings and non-forgettable impressions to the participants of the change. Natalia Antonok, the head of the «Stremitelniy» camp, greeted the young geographers on behalf of the All-Russian Children`s Center «Orlyonok».

In spite of the fact that the change has just begun, the children have already visited the weather station, managed to check the quality of water in the in environmental monitoring laboratory, visited the museum of local lore and the Museum of Tuapse State Meteorological College (TGMT), and gave their questions to the specialists.

And in the All-Russian Children`s Center «Orlyonok» the first guests managed to visit them: the candidate of Geographical Sciences, Associate Professor of TGMT, Mikhail Arakelov, the Head of the Department of TGMT, PhD Sergey Merzakanov and the Director of the Museum of TGMT Andrey Pikhun, who told about the Region of Tuapse, about its nature and history.

The head of the Medical Geography Commission of Krasnodar Regional Branch of the Russian Geographical Society Andrey Kolodkin and the Deputy Chairman of the Regional Federation of Sport Tourism Nikolai Kovalenko told the children about their expeditions. Each participant of the change got the «Diary of a discoverer» from the hands of the travelers.

During the change the boys and girls will become the participants of the thematic days, saturated with numerous meetings, excursions and trips. A variety of practical exercises, geographic quests, sports, contacting famous geographers, travelers and discoverers, lessons on social engineering, meteorology, cartography, topography are waiting for the participants of the change.
The All-Russian Children`s Center «Orlyonok» is located 45 kilometers far from the city of Tuapse (Krasnodarsky Region). The Center Square - 217 hectares, 3.7 km from which is being the territory of the beach. All the year round the children from all the regions of Russia, Near Abroad and the CIS countries are having rest here.
The 18th of February the Russian Geographical Society announced the contest for participation in the profile changes of the Society in international and all-Russian children`s centers «Orlyonok», «Artek», «Ocean», «Smena» in 2016. The acceptance of applications to the «Orlyonok» was completed the 8th of March.
The profile change will last till the 20th-21st of April, 2016.
