A specialized camp of the Russian Geographical Society, "The World of Discoveries", opened at the International Child Center "Artek" in Crimea. Boys and girls will get acquainted with the oldest public organization in Russia, learn about geographic research, travel and expeditions, youth clubs of the Russian Geographical Society, exchange experiences and, perhaps, even make their own discoveries.

As a reminder, in connection with the spread of coronavirus infection this year, children from the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol became the participants of the camp. The International Child Center "Artek" has decided that children from other regions who have passed the competitive selection this year will not be required to pass it next year. They will receive the priority right to join the same specialized camps  based on the lists of the winners of the competitive selection in the event of the project being implemented in 2021.

"This year we are celebrating several memorable dates: the 175th anniversary of the Russian Geographical Society and the 200th anniversary of the discovery of Antarctica. Whole sections of our specialized program at "Artek" are dedicated to these glorious dates," said Ivan Chaika, head of "The World of Discoveries" project.

When?").

Leading experts in the fields of science, culture, as well as public figures will talk with the participants of "The World of Discoveries" in an online format. Among them are pilot-cosmonaut Anton Shkaplerov, well-known travel journalist Irina Pudova, director Vladimir Shuvannikov and others.
