The Youth Intellectual Club of the Russian Geographical Society is waiting for you again at its meeting. The theme of discussion is the following: «Russian Arctic as reserves and/ or the area of active development: economic and geographical approach».
What are the risks and benefits of the global warming for Arctic exploration? What is the marginal cost of development of the Arctic? Is the Northern Sea Route - the infrastructure framework of the Russian Arctic or competitive transit routes? What is the strategy for development of the Arctic? These and many other questions will be discussed by the participants of the meeting.
The director of the Center of Economics of North and the Arctic SOPS, the Chairman of the socio-economic section of the Expert Council on the Arctic and Antarctic under the Chairman of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly, a member of the territorial organization of the Society of the Commission and Planning Professor Alexander Pilyasov, the Head of the Department of Economic and Social Geography of Russia of the Faculty of Geography of the Lomonosov Moscow State University, a member of the Commission of the Russian Geographical Society on the territorial organization and planning, Professor Vyacheslav Baburin, a senior researcher at the Institute of Applied Economic Research of the Russian Academy of National Economy and Public Administration under the President of the Russian Federation and the Laboratory of complex ecological and geographical studies of Arctic of the Faculty of Geography of the Lomonosov Moscow State University Stepan Zemtsov.
The Youth Intellectual Club of the Russian Geographical Society units the caring and ambitious students, graduate students and young professionals, interested in the problems of Russia's development. Any interested person under age of 35 may take part in the activity of the Club.
The organizer of the event is the Russian Geographical Society with participation of the Coordinating Council on Youth in scientific and educational spheres under the President of the Russian Federation for Science and Education, Faculty of global processes and the geographical faculty of the Lomonosov Moscow State University.
