Grants of the Russian Geographical Society are targeted funds provided to individuals and legal entities for conducting fundamental and applied research, publishing educational and/or media projects (media grants) aimed at achieving the  Society's goals.

Applications for grants are accepted only through the electronic system on the website grant.rgo.ru

The Society Expert Council adheres to the Regulations on grants when considering applications for the grant support. The grant framework is based on the following principles:

  • openness to receive applications and fairness of grants;

  • transparency of the application review procedure;

  • co-financing of project support;
  • Prospects for the further implementation of the project after the end of the grant financing.

Grant projects should be of great public importance and focus on achieving a practical result in the interests of Russia and its regions.
