The joint expedition of the Russian Geographical Society and the Northern Fleet to the Russkiy lighthouse on the Bolshoy Oleny Island in the Barents Sea took place on October 9 through 12 in 2021.

The participants of the expedition, employees of the Moscow Center for Contemporary History Ivan Anokhin, Denis Ulyankin, and a member of the MRB RGS, senior assistant captain of the large hydrographic boat “Alexander Makorta” Igor Bedrin, used the large hydrographic boat "Alexander Makorta" to reach the Bolshoy Oleny Island. They explored the area, made videos and took both aerial and regular pictures of the Russkiy lighthouse.
